1st Farm Credit Services recently revised the Board of Directors structure to add an appointed director position. This new director, who must be a voting stockholder, will be appointed by the Board to represent a segment of stockholders who may not presently have a voice through the elected members of the Board. The Board is seeking an agri-business leader for this appointed position, with a preference for female candidates. The Board is asking for your help to source qualified candidates.

I have attached copies of the application materials for appointed director candidates to review and complete. Candidate information will be treated as confidential. These materials include:

• Nomination Form for Appointed Director
• Appointed Director Eligibility Requirements
• Policy 103 – Director Eligibility and Desirable Director Qualifications
• Duties and Responsibilities of Association Director

Nominations must be received by September 4, 2007. The Governance Committee will review applications, conduct personal interviews and recommend candidates to the full Board for consideration. The Board will interview finalists and select one candidate to be appointed for a four-year term.
