NORMAL -- The board of directors of
1st Farm Credit Services, ACA, has elected board officers at
its annual reorganization meeting, according to Wayne A.
Gustafson, president and CEO of the farmer-owned agricultural
lending and financial services organization. The board serves
as the cooperatives policy-making body.
At the reorganization meeting, John
Schmitt, Ursa, was re-elected board chairman, and Kevin Aves,
Kirkland, was elected vice chairman. Aves succeeds Mike Menold,
Princeville, as vice chairman.
Schmitt and his father operate 1,080
acres in Adams County where they produce corn, soybeans, hay
and other forages. Schmitt also feeds and markets about 400
beef cattle annually. He has been a Farm Credit Services
client for 10 years and has served as a director since 1995.
The Aves family operates 2,500 acres
in DeKalb County, producing corn, soybeans and wheat. He has
been a Farm Credit Services client for 22 years. Aves has
served as a Farm Credit Services director since 1992.
