1st Farm Credit Services was one of four sponsors of the Illinois Horse Fair, which is produced by the Horsemen’s Council of Illinois.

The "Financing For Your Country Dream" drawing was held to highlight 1st Farm Credit Services’ position as the leading lender for farms and rural homes with acreage, including purchase financing, and refinancing of mortgages and land contracts. In addition to providing low interest rates and local service, 1st Farm Credit Services has more than 85 years of rural lending experience, as well as knowledge of local rural real estate markets, according to Joe Vogel, financial professional in 1st FCS’ Princeton office.

"We are very happy that a family from Bureau County was fortunate enough to win the $500 drawing," states Vogel. More than 600 individuals registered for the drawing.

Gothard and her husband, David, operate Rocking G Ranch where they raise and show horses. Both have been involved in the horse industry from the time they were children. Gothard said it was "a very pleasant surprise" learning she had won the drawing. "When my husband relayed the message, I didn’t believe him. I thought he was joking," she elaborated.
