POSITION: Credit Assistant, Credit Services Division

GRADE: Grade 7-8, depending on experience

LOCATION: Mahomet, Illinois

REPORTS TO: Regional Vice President, Credit Services Division

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Credit Assistant serves the association's internal and external customers by providing support to other Credit Services employees in processing the loan requests, loan servicing requests, and other credit services originated in the association's territory. The individual will be involved in and support the analysis and processing of credit packages, utilizing a delegated approval authority. The Credit Assistant must be a team player who demonstrates teamwork within the department and with all association personnel.

The position requires a high school diploma and one to two years of advanced studies in accounting and/or credit and three years experience, or equivalent. The position requires a working knowledge of FCS loan products and services and credit operations. Proven customer service skills and effective team skills are essential. The incumbent must have a solid understanding of credit processing and servicing activities, accounting principles and practices, and credit analysis procedures. Must be able to utilize computer technology and a wide variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills are necessary.

JOB TITLE:  Lending Services Officer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Commercial Lending Services Officer for Business Lending serves as a resource to capital markets, rural investment, and agri-business segments to provide sound and appropriate credit guidance and underwriting. Applies knowledge of business development, credit skills and association policy to provide credit underwriting originated by Vice Presidents. Provides credit expertise, analysis and support on complex actions for large agribusiness/cap mkts and agricultural rural developments loans and investments. Provides analysis and support in servicing requests and other credit services. Coordinates with the agribusiness/cap mkts and ARC VP, and credit assistant to provide exceptional service, achieve credit administration goals and meet client needs. Achieves targeted credit quality with adequate compensation for risk. Maintains an understanding of federal and state guarantee programs and utilizes the programs as necessary in the administration of credit. This position is delegated credit authority level and is a member of the Association Loan Committee. Using the assigned authorities the officer will manage the risk within the assigned portfolio balancing the need for sound credit decisions and administration with portfolio growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics and five to ten years experience in credit and operations, or equivalent, post graduate degree, or MBA is desirable Ability to make sound judgments is required. Knowledge of capital market activities including national and multination food and agricultural related companies, agribusiness industry, rural community and business lending and agribusiness lending is required.

The position requires an understanding of credit administration, and portfolio management. Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, and influencing skills are required. The incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and team process skills. Experience on the job in the use of various business/financial computer applications is required.

JOB TITLE:  Associate Insurance Specialist
LOCATION:  Normal,  Illinois

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Associate Insurance Specialist  learns the crop insurance specialist position through a rotation at Central Office and assignment as a member of various branch teams. The goal is accountability for crop insurance income, new client development and client relationships within an assigned territory.  Provides support and follows a training plan to learn, understand and eventually be responsible for the Association’s efforts in meeting annual crop insurance sales goals, developing new client relationships, servicing and marketing to clients, conducting individual and group product-use demonstrations and participating in the development of marketing and business plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree agriculture, business, or related field with some sales and/or business office experience.  Must have the ability to travel and work at various branch locations in central/northern Illinois for extended assignment. Knowledgeable in the agribusiness/farming industry, Ag production methods and products, farm business management and finance.

Basic skills in customer service, communication, interpersonal relations, team process and financial analysis. Experience in the use of various computer business/financial applications is required and will include basic or intermediate skill level competence with Windows, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.   Customer service skills, time management, administrative, and effective team skills are also essential.  A positive customer service attitude is a must. The successful candidate must acquire and maintain an insurance license for crop insurance sales and be qualified as a sales person of multi-peril crop insurance.

JOB TITLE:  Financial Analyst
LOCATION:  Normal,  Illinois

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Financial Analyst provides technical expertise in the area of Finance to achieve the association’s vision.  He/she will assist in pricing support for the association through knowledge of interest rate policy and procedures, as well as through monitoring and other related procedures needed for the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).

The position will assist in the preparation and completion of the annual 5 year budget and planning models through Hyperion.  He/she will serve as a primary leasing contact for finance activities, including general ledger reconciliations, pricing, and lease specific reporting.  This position will also serve as an association reporting contact, creating reports through a variety of programs for ad hoc queries, loan portfolio analysis, fees, and new money.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, mathematics, or the equivalent and one to two years experience with solid accounting, analytical and reporting skills.  The individual must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.  Reporting skills in software such as Crystal, Hyperion, and Microsoft Reporting Services are a plus. 

The individual must possess analytical abilities, oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience, interpersonal and customer service acumen, and teamwork/collaboration skills.  The individual should demonstrate initiative, professionalism, problem solving skills, adaptation to change, and prioritization of tasks.  Attention to detail and accuracy are a must.
